As part of our people who help us topic in Reception and Primary One, we had some visitors to our school this morning. Firemen Paddy and John visited us to teach us all about how their job helps the people in our community. The children were bursting with excitment when they heard the sirens and saw the flashing lights as they pulled up to our school. We got to try on the fire protective clothing including the heavy helmets, learn all about the equipment they use, jump into the cab of the truck and also test out the hoses. The children particularly enjoyed testing out how waterproof the clothes were by soaking poor John. Happy smiling faces all around and a fantastic experience that brought their learning to life!
