Gravity can't keep P2/3 down!

2nd Sep 2017

We might only be back to school 2 days but P2/3 have already got to grips with our new topic: Space! The class have shared what they already know about Space, some of us were able to describe things we see in Space, others knew that the Sun was a star and not a planet!😮 We talked about gravity and how it affects us, and we also started to think about what would happen if we didn't have gravity to pull us towards the ground! One pupil was able to name Isaac Newton as the man who discovered gravity! So, as you can see our P2/3 class already know quite a bit about Space. 🤓 Mrs McKeown is going to have quite a job trying to find new things to teach us, but she started us off with a challenge: we had to draw things we might see in Space ... in a gravity-free classroom! How? She -along with Miss Lorna and Miss Rosalyn -taped our paper to the underside of our tables!!

We had to lie on our backs and draw UPSIDE DOWN , imagining our paper was floating against the roof of our rockets!

We had a lot of fun and discovered how tricky it was to do something that we normally find quite easy, in a gravity- free zone!
