P2/3 have been busy learning all about where bread comes from – from grain to loaf! As part of our topic, we explored the process of making bread, discovering how wheat is grown, harvested, milled into flour, and finally turned into the many types of bread we see in the shops.
To bring our learning to life, we rolled up our sleeves and had a go at baking our very own scones! The children loved measuring, mixing, kneading and shaping the dough. The best part was tasting their delicious, warm scones at the end.
This hands on experience helped us understand how ingredients change when we mix and cook them, and it gave everyone a chance to practice important skills such as following instructions, working together and being careful in the kitchen.
