Parents + pupils + games = a Mental Maths night to remember!
A massive thank you to the parents and pupils who braved a Yellow weather warning to come BACK to school for a night on Mental Maths!!
At Killowen Primary, we recognise that parents are the first educators of their children and that this relationship may evolve but it never ceases. For this reason we, as a staff, are committed to sharing our skills and knowledge with our pupils' parents.
After a very successful Linguistic Phonics training session for parents in May, we decided to build on this with a Mental Maths evening on the 12th September.
As as you can see, an informative and enjoyable evening was had by all ...
I think one pupil reflected the rationale behind our approach to Maths when he asked a parent to wait while he finished his game. Who knew fractions could captivate a pupil at 8.10 on a soggy Tuesday night...?
