Reading on World Kindness Day
Students in Reception & P1 have been very excited this week! Children’s author Julie Ballard sent one of our teachers their brand new book to read with our wonderful students.
The book is called ‘The dinosaur who lost her voice’ and it is a lovely story about a dinosaur who goes through a particularly challenging time, but has to find a new way to shine. It’s such a lovely, uplifting book & we’d certainly recommend it.
It really made us realise how much we are missing our singing and ‘fingers crossed’ we can return to it safely soon!
The students absolutely loved the story, the illustrations & particularly the way it rhymed all of the way through. They thought ‘Milly-Jo’ was very brave too! This was a lovely addition to our daily story-time and has inspired us to learn even more sounds!
This lovely story also had brilliant themes of kindness when Milly-Jo’s friends tried to help her out - which tied in nicely with our discussions on World Kindness Day 2020.
Thank you Julie for allowing us to be one of the first in the country to review your brilliant, new book!
