As part of our Numeracy curriculum we have been learning how to sort objects based on one criterion and then engage in small group discussion about the sorting. We took part in a number station rotation with all different activities in which we sorted objects by colour, this involved using finger pinchers to sort pom poms, sort pictures into hoops based on their colour and also sort coloured teddy bears. The children really enjoyed this task and the practical element helped their understanding of this numeracy based task.
