Our reception children have been enjoying the benefits of playdough play.
Heres just a few reasons why we love it so much.
- Fine Motor Skills: great for strenghening those little hand muscles- rolling, squishing, flattening dough all encourage prewriting skills, cutting skills and holding a pencil with a pincer grasp.
- Creativity and Imagination: using playdough allows their imagination to flourish. The children love creating new things-here linked to our autumn topic.
- Develops hand-eye co-ordination: by using their hands to shape the dough and using a range of materials their co-ordination can be enhanced.
