The theme for this year's Trócaire campaign centres around water and access to clean water. The children in Reception and Primary 1 have been learning lots about Patricia and Patrick who have to walk large distances to get access to water. The children even had a go carrying water on their heads like Patrick and Patricia. As part of their outdoor learning, the children also worked together to create pipes to show how water moves and flows from a source to another place. They used a range of different materials to see which was best for carrying their water. The learning here was endless and above all every child had fun. Outdoor learning is such an important part of what we do here at Killowen and it was great to see the youngest children so engaged.
