We're going on a minibeast hunt
As part of our topic on Minibeasts, the children in Reception and P1 had the chance to go and search for all of the little creatures that we have been learning about around the school. Children worked in pairs to find minibeasts in all different areas of the school and tick them off on their checklist using their clipboards. After we had throughly explored the school grounds, we then took our exploration further and headed down to the school pitch to search for bugs. We walked very carefully using our rope and used our listening ears really well and everyone enjoyed all of the open space in the field to investigate and look for minibeasts under rocks and in bushes and even in the grass. This really made our topic come to life as the children were so excited to see the real life version of insects that they now know lots of information about!
